Acceptance checklist

Check the machine together before a rental starts, so both sides agree on what was delivered.

Before you connect

  • Confirm in RentPC messages: start and end time (with time zone), price, payment method, and what happens if the session is interrupted.
  • Owner shares a one-time access code or invite only when the session starts.

Hardware matches the listing

  • Windows: run dxdiag or open Task Manager → Performance. macOS: Apple menu → About This Mac. Linux: lscpu, free -h, nvidia-smi.
  • Check CPU model, GPU model and VRAM, RAM and free disk space against the listing.
  • Take a screenshot and post it in the conversation so you both have a record.

Network and remote tool

  • Run a speed test on the rented machine (e.g. speedtest.net) and note download/upload.
  • Check latency between you, e.g. the stats overlay in Parsec or Moonlight, or ping over Tailscale.
  • Try copying a file in both directions if you'll need file transfer.

Software and access

  • Confirm the software you need is installed or that you may install it.
  • Renter works under the separate user account the owner prepared, without admin rights unless agreed.

Then mark it “In use”

Once both of you are satisfied, either side marks the rental as “In use” in the conversation. If something doesn't match, talk it through first — or cancel before any payment.
